Types of instant coffee

Powdered coffee is green roasted and ground coffee. Then a concentrated extract is made of the ground coffee, the coffee is loaded to special batteries and treated under pressure using hot water. After the extract cools down, it is filtered and dried with hot air, as a result powdered coffee is produced.

Agglomerated coffee (in the form of granules) — production of this type resembles production of powdered coffee with one additional procedure when under the steam the powder is clustered into lumps — granules.

Sublimated freeze-dried (in the form of crystals) — is the most advanced method for producing instant coffee, allowing full preservation of coffee taste and flavor. This method consists in fast freezing of fresh-brewed concentrated coffee after which the coffee is put to the vacuum chamber, where it is sublimated — ice vaporizes without turning to water.
